Conditional sentence-এর নিয়ম অনুযায়ী if clause যদি simple past tense হয়, তবে অপর clause-টি subject-এর পর would + মূল verb বসে। প্রদত্ত বাক্যটির শূন্যস্থানে lived বসবে। কেননা বাক্যের অপর অংশে would + মূল verb 'go' ব্যবহৃত হয়েছে। অন্যদিকে had lived 3rd conditional-এ ব্যবহৃত হয়। আর বাকিগুলো conditional sentence-এ ব্যবহৃত হয় না।
